PIG BOM408 Oil-Only Absorbent Booms

PIG BOM408 oil-only absorbent booms are designed for effective control of oil spills on land or water. This model delivers field-proven performance, floating on water for containment while conforming closely to ground surfaces for land-based spills.

These absorbent booms soak up and retain oils and oil-based liquids such as lubricants and fuels without absorbing water. A tough, UV-resistant outer mesh allows fluids to pass easily into the filler, while the internal rope reinforcement supports safe deployment and retrieval. The bright white colour improves visibility in outdoor environments and clearly indicates saturation levels. Zinc-plated steel clips and rings allow multiple booms to be linked together for extended spill containment.

Usage Note:
When wind speeds exceed 5 knots, perpendicular water currents exceed 2 knots, or waves are higher than the freeboard of the boom, oil may pass over or submerge the boom. Optimal operating conditions are typically Beaufort Scale 2 or below.
